Forehead

A Botox smile lift subtly elevates the corners of the mouth by relaxing the depressor anguli oris muscles, which are responsible for pulling the mouth downward. This can contribute to an aged or unhappy expression, even when at rest. Botox is precisely injected into these muscles to release the downward pull, subtly lifting the corners of the mouth for a more pleasant and youthful appearance.

Crows Feet

Crow’s feet are the fine lines that develop at the outer corners of the eyes due to frequent squinting, smiling, and sun exposure. These wrinkles can deepen over time, making the eyes appear aged or fatigued. Botox is placed in the delicate muscles around the eyes to relax movement, softening existing lines while allowing for natural facial expressions.

Chin

Botox for the chin smooths out dimpling and an uneven or “pebble” texture caused by overactive mentalis muscles. While this effect can become more noticeable with age as the skin loses collagen and elasticity, relaxing this area with Botox creates a softer, more refined look.

Botox FAQs

Wrinkles on the skin are a direct result of the repetitive action of the facial muscles. When Botox is used, the muscles are prevented from contracting, and therefore the wrinkles are softened or eliminated. Most often, with regularly scheduled Botox injections, the time between the injections gets longer. It appears that the muscles develop atrophy over time.

Some of the more pronounced wrinkles on the face are caused by repeated facial movements over a long period, causing them to become deeper and more profound. Botox is a medication that relaxes the facial muscles. It can be injected into the muscles that are causing the wrinkles, temporarily paralyzing them and fading the wrinkles that have long been there. Dermal fillers are used not to relax the muscle that shows lines, rather fill in areas that have lost volume. Botox and dermal fillers are used completely differently and work together well.

Most appointments take 15–30 minutes.

Botox results typically last between 3 to 4 months, although the duration can vary from person to person. Factors such as your metabolism, muscle strength, treatment area, and the number of units used can all influence how long your results last.

There is no upper age limit for Botox, and many patients in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond choose Botox to help maintain a refreshed, well-rested appearance. The decision to get Botox is less about age and more about your individual concerns, skin condition, and aesthetic goals.
